About Us

Who we are

Citrus Press is an independent, Australian-owned publishing company, an imprint of Retter Marketing and Communication Pty Ltd, established in 1979. Citrus Press publishes corporate and commissioned publications – high quality illustrated non-fiction, corporate histories, information books, gift books and corporate e-books.

We think, live and breathe books and are committed to making each and every title we publish the best it can possibly be — both for our clients and for the book’s readers.

As well as two decades of publishing experience, we bring our unique corporate, government and not-for-profit career experiences, and creative and marketing know-how to every project from Day One.

Every book has our Principal’s individual and professional attention. Every book is tailored to your particular requirements. Our clients tell us we go the extra mile. To us, that’s our normal way of working.

What makes us different

One of the things that sets Citrus Press apart is that its publisher and CEO, Catharine Retter, has an extensive background in senior marketing and management (in commercial and government sectors).

This means she understands corporate strategies, and the language of business as well as the requirements of government reporting, and Board and senior management priorities.

She has been a senior Marketing Director; the CEO of an iconic Australian company, turning it around for a successful sale to private equity investors; joint CEO of a digital apps start up company; as well as having been a Board director on a variety of government, commercial and not-for-profit organisations.

This first-hand understanding of the business sector results in books that seamlessly reflect your marketing and brand strategies as well as your corporate culture and personality, whether they are for anniversaries, case studies, rebranding stories, corporate milestone celebrations, or just to record corporate knowledge before it disappears.

Most of Catharine’s career has been in the creative industries and she has been a member of major Australian design teams and committees ranging from the Australian Bicentennial celebrations through to the Sydney 200 Olympic Games.

As the author of nine published non-fiction books, she also understands the communication process and values the power of ideas, story and engaging the reader.

What this has meant for Citrus Press clients is that we can quickly absorb your priorities and the needs of your project and your business.
